Hey, I’m Dylan. I’m a remedial massage and myotherapist focused on helping people move with more ease, feel more connected to their body, and better understand what’s driving their pain or tension.
I work with a wide range of clients, particularly those dealing with chronic pain, postural imbalances, and persistent neck and upper back tension that often leads to headaches. My approach is guided by thoughtful assessment and the understanding that pain is rarely just about one tight spot.
Each session is collaborative and tailored, with an emphasis on identifying underlying contributors and creating a clear management plan that supports both short-term relief and long-term change. I also work closely with other healthcare practitioners to ensure care is well-rounded and aligned.
I’m a graduate of the Melbourne Institute of Massage Therapy (MIMT) and a member of Massage & Myotherapy Australia. I’m committed to ongoing learning and professional development to continually refine how I support clients with complex or persistent presentations.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find me hanging out with my schnauzer, Ody, or listening to my ever-growing vinyl record collection.
What is Remedial Massage?
Remedial massage is a targeted, results-focused treatment used to reduce pain, improve movement, and support stress management. Each session is guided by assessment, posture, and how your body is functioning on the day.
Techniques may be slow and deep or lighter and calming, depending on the tissue and nervous system response. Remedial massage is commonly used for neck and back pain, headaches, postural strain, and ongoing muscular tension, while also helping the body downshift from chronic stress.
What is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy builds on remedial massage with a more clinical and rehabilitative approach. It focuses on identifying and treating the underlying cause of pain and dysfunction, including certain muscular, joint, and nerve related pathologies.
Sessions often involve a deeper level of assessment, education, and guided rehabilitation, with the goal of improving how the body functions long term, not just reducing symptoms in the moment. Myotherapy is particularly helpful for persistent pain, chronic injuries, and conditions where issues tend to keep returning.
Your session begins with a short conversation about what’s been happening in your body, including pain, movement limitations, lifestyle factors, and stress. This is followed by simple observation or guided movements to better understand how your body is functioning.
From there, a management plan is developed based on your goals and what your body needs. Treatment is tailored to support that plan and may include hands-on work alongside active movements to improve comfort, confidence, and ease of movement.
You’ll be encouraged to stay aware of how things feel throughout the session, with time taken to explain what’s happening and why. You may also receive simple, realistic guidance to support your progress between sessions.
Sessions are collaborative, considered, and focused on both short-term relief and long-term improvement.
